MILO

I love to be at home, in my house, in the garden, in the studio.  But it is when I am traveling that my photographic instincts come alive.   Each year, my husband and I take off for someplace far away- India, Mexico, Holland, Paris. Long weekends exploring the Northeast, visiting friends and family offer the same chance to recharge our batteries.  When we are on the road, in the sky, going somewhere, coming home, wandering through unknown territory is when I can hear the little voices of new ideas.  My senses are alert to everything around me.  I may come home with a hundred rolls of film, with nothing more than pictures that say, “look at this tree/person/building/color…”  Sometimes I don’t recognize my travel pictures as art, but I am beginning to see them as the seeds of ideas, and an important practice to keep my eyes, trigger finger and creative instincts in shape.
